Cook County Jail is headed by an administration that includes the Executive Director, 2 First Assistant Executive Directors and Assistant Executive Director of Security, Assistant Executive Director of Programs, Assistant Executive Director of Administration and Assistant Executive Director of Operations. Additionally, each division and specialty unit is headed by a Superintendent. In total, the Cook County Department of Corrections employs approximately 3,800 sworn and civilian staff members.
