Monday, January 11, 2010 — A Chicago Heights man is being held on $750,000 after appearing in bond court Saturday, charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, according to the office of Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart.

Bryant Blackmon, 34, of the 1600 block of School Street, was apprehended by Sheriff’s Police shortly after robbing a person at gun point in Ford Heights on Friday afternoon.  The 21-year-old victim approached officers after being robbed by Blackmon and was able to point him out on the street.  Officers took Blackmon into custody as he was walking away from his vehicle.  After obtaining permission to search his car, police recovered a gun and cannabis in the vehicle.  A cell phone and battery powered car starter, which were identified as being property of the victim, were also found in the car.

Blackmon’s next court date is January 29th at the Markham Courthouse.
