Thursday, July 21, 2016 Cook County Sheriff’s officers have arrested 65 people in domestic violence warrants sweep, Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said today.

The operation began Tuesday morning and concluded Friday morning. Over this 72+ hour stretch, dozens of members of the Sheriff’s Central Warrant Unit fanned out across Cook County targeting those with outstanding warrants for domestic abuse, many of whom are previous offenders.

Highlights from this week’s sweep include:

While the operation was focused on those charged with domestic assault, it also yielded 27 supplementary arrests – which are incorporated into the 65 arrest total. Included in the collateral arrests were Jianzhi Zheng of Chicago (wanted on the charge of aggravated assault with a gun) and Dolton-based Terry Strickland of Dolton (wanted on an Indiana warrant for child molestation).
