Monday, November 15, 2010— The Cook County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance with a fatal hit and run that occurred on Wed. Nov. 10th at approximately 3:00 in the morning.

The victim, Shawn P. Moore, 31, of the 400 block of Kingman Lane, was hit after he left a bar in Roselle.  A witness last saw him alive walking northbound along the 1500 block of South Roselle Road at approximately 2:50 a.m.  The witness called 911 to report she saw a man who appeared to need assistance.  About ten minutes after her emergency call, a second witness called 911 to report Moore lying injured in the roadway.  He was pronounced dead at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village shortly thereafter.

Cook County Sheriff’s Police canvassed the scene, but most of the businesses and residences along the stretch of roadway where the accident took place are vacant.  Roselle Road also had limited traffic at this time of the morning.  Detectives are in the process of trying to match vehicle parts left at the scene to determine a make and model of the car that hit Moore.

The vehicle that hit Moore would have sustained damage to the front end, windshield, and hood.  Investigators are asking anyone with information, including body shops or witnesses, to contact police at 708-865-4896.
