SHERIFF’S POLICE TO GIVE INTERNET SAFETY PRESENTATION
IN LEYDEN TOWNSHIP
Friday, November 6, 2009 —A free seminar designed to familiarize parents with the dangers of the Internet will be presented in Leyden Township on Monday, Nov. 30 by the Cook County Sheriff’s Police.
“Internet Safety For Parents” will be held at 7 p.m. at the Leyden Senior Center, 2601 North Mannheim Road, Leyden Township.
The hour-long program will explain the various ways children can get into trouble online utilizing social networking sites and chat rooms; review the physical and emotional signals that your child may potentially be involved with a child predator; and what parents can do to keep their children safe online.
A short question and answer session will be held at the end of the presentation for those in attendance. Leyden Township will also provide light refreshments.
