SHERIFF’S POLICE DUI CHECKPOINT MOVED TO PROVISO TOWNSHIP

Home > Press Page

Wednesday, December 30, 2009 —    The Cook County Sheriff’s Police roadside safety checkpoint scheduled for the evening hours of Wednesday, December 30, 2009, has been moved from Leyden to Proviso Township, due to logistical concerns, according to the office of Sheriff Thomas J. Dart.

During the safety check, vehicles will be stopped randomly based on the flow of traffic.  Drivers will be screened for proper licensing, registration and any other violations while all vehicles will be checked for equipment and other violations.

The Sheriff’s Random Roadside Safety Check Program is conducted regularly across Cook County in an effort to promote safe driving.
