FIRST DEGREE MURDER ARREST WARRANT ISSUED FOR WHEELING MAN

—A no-bond first degree murder arrest warrant has been obtained by the Cook County Sheriff's Police Department for VIDAL RODRIGUEZ, aka "Chi-Town", of the 80 block of Carriage Hill Road in Wheeling, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced today.
Rodriguez, 20, is wanted for an unprovoked murder that occurred on May 12, 2012 at approximately 9:30AM in the Whispering Winds apartment complex located near the southeast corner of Lake Cook Road and IL Route 53 in Unincorporated Palatine Township.
At the time of the murder Rodriguez was armed with a .22 cal rifle and is still considered armed and extremely dangerous. He has previous arrests in his history and is a member of the Maniac Latin Disciples.
Rodriguez is believed to be with a girlfriend, Corina Velazquez-Gonzalez, 17, of Wheeling, who was reported missing by her mother about the same time as when the murder occurred.
A search to locate Rodriguez and Gonzalez continues, if anyone has any information about their whereabouts, they are asked to contact the Cook County Sheriff's Police – Investigations Unit at 847-635-1188.
Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000.00 reward to the individual who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of Vidal Rodriguez.
