—The Cook County Sheriff's Office once again participated in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative last week throughout Cook County. The actual National designated day for this event is April 25th, but the Sheriff's Office extends its program to a three day event, this year being held from April 25th – April 28th.
There were 5 drop off locations throughout Cook County set up by the Sheriff's Office and between the five locations, there was 106 pounds of prescription medications that was collected. The breakdown of materials by pound that were collected at each location is listed below.
Maywood Courthouse: 1 pound
Bridgeview Courthouse: 56 pounds
Markham Courthouse: 9 pounds
Rolling Meadows Courthouse: 14 pounds
Skokie Courthouse: 26 pounds
Sheriff Dart is dedicated ensuring that unused, unwanted and/or expired
prescription drugs are out of people homes and disposed of in a safe and healthy manner.
