Monday, October 21, 2013A Schaumburg man was arrested Thursday after officers carrying out a court-ordered eviction learned that he was in possession of more than three dozen weapons with a revoked Firearm Owner’s Identification card, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said today.

Wallace SolloWallace Sollo, 59, has been charged with three counts of possession of firearm with a revoked FOID card, a class 3 felony, and one misdemeanor count of possession of ammunition without a valid FOID card. His bond was set at $20,000 during a hearing today at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse. If he posts bond, Sollo will be placed on electronic monitoring as a condition of his release.

Officers carried out the court order Thursday on Whitman Drive in Schaumburg. While completing an eviction questionnaire, Sollo, who was the subject of the eviction, told the officers that were several firearms in two bedrooms. Officers recovered seven shotguns, nine rifles, 22 handguns, and 10 rifle receivers, all of which were located in plain view.

Sollo was arrested after the officers learned Sollo’s FOID card had been revoked.

His next court date is scheduled for Nov. 15 at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse.
