Friday, January 24, 2014An employee of an organization that provides adult literacy and GED classes for detainees at Cook County Jail has been charged with custodial sexual misconduct, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said today.

Lester HillLester Hill, 27, of Chicago, is scheduled to appear in court today at the George N. Leighton Criminal Court Building.

Cook County Sheriff’s investigators received information that Hill, while at work, had engaged in sexual acts with a 23-year-old female detainee on Jan. 13 and Jan. 15 of this year. Hill was an instructional facilitator employed with PACE Institute, a division of Safer Foundation, and he has worked at Cook County Jail since May 2013.

PACE Institute provides adult literacy and GED preparation classes to Cook County Jail detainees. The classes for detainees are voluntary.

Hill was taken into custody on Wednesday at the jail. He was charged with custodial sexual misconduct, a class 3 felony, on Thursday.

Sheriff Dart reminds the public that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty by the government in a court of law.
