Wednesday, April 07, 2010 — A Summit man is being held at the Cook County Jail on $1 million bond after he was charged with repeatedly molesting a relative for several years, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart announced Wednesday.

James DixonJames Dixon, 36, of the 5400 block of South 73rd Avenue, is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual assault of a family member. The victim in the case indicated Dixon had repeatedly molested the underage victim, committing hundreds of acts, for almost a decade.

When first questioned by police, Dixon told sheriff’s police investigators he had never molested the victim. In a follow-up interview, he admitted to once engaging in sex acts with the victim. A few hours later, Dixon admitted to an investigator that he had engaged in more than 300 acts of molestation against the victim since the victim was 8 years old.

Dixon was arrested Friday and bond was set at $1 million on Saturday. His next court date is set for April 22.
