FORD HEIGHTS MAN CHARGED WITH BATTERY TO SHERIFF’S POLICE OFFICER
Tuesday, Febuary 24, 2009 — A 21-year-old man was charged with battery to a Cook County Sheriff’s Police officer after officers responded to a call of a fight on a Ford Heights street early Sunday morning, the Office of Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said Tuesday.
Officers received a call about 12:30 a.m. Sunday of a fight in progress in the 1400 block of Park Lane. When officers arrived, they gave several verbal commands for the offender, Jerail Lee, 21, of 1408 Park, Ford Heights, to leave the area. Lee was arguing outside with a woman.
As Lee continued arguing with the woman, he shoved the Sheriff’s Police officer in the back. Another officer then restrained Lee and took him into custody.
Lee was charged with one count of battery to a police officer. The officer was not injured in the incident.
