SHERIFF’S POLICE TO CONDUCT ROADSIDE SAFETY CHECKPOINT IN MAYWOOD
Wednesday, June 30, 2010— In an effort to curb dangerous or drunk driving, the Cook County Sheriff’s Police will conduct a random roadside safety checkpoint during the evening hours of Friday, July 2, 2010 near the intersection of 1st Avenue and Maybrook Drive in Maywood, according to the Office of Sheriff Thomas J. Dart.
During the safety check, vehicles will be stopped randomly based on the flow of traffic. Drivers will be screened for proper licensing and registration while all vehicles will be checked for equipment and other violations. Also, any suspicious passengers will be subject to scrutiny by police.
