Home > Press Page

Monday, June 29, 2009 — A Hazel Crest resident was arrested in the early morning hours on Saturday for biting and kicking police officers, according to the office of Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart.

Regina Tillett, 29, of the 17000 block of south Kedzie, was charged with 3 counts of battery to a peace officer, resisting arrest and assault following an altercation with Sheriff’s Police.

Sheriff’s Police responded to a disturbance in the 900 block of east 15th Street in Ford Heights.  After interviewing a victim, who identified Tillett as her attacker, police attempted to take Tillett into custody.  Tillett became combative, biting one officer, kicking another officer and then kicking a squad car door, which hit a third officer.

Tillett appeared in bond court and was given a $7,500 bond.  All three officers were treated for minor injuries.
